Ben Murphy Coach

“You will be the same person in five  years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”  – Charlie “Tremendous” Jones

To be able to grow and change as a person we need to feed our mind, body, and soul. One of the best ways to feed our minds is with knowledge. Here is my list of books that I would highly recommend to help you grow in personal finance, career, and life. You can also listen to many of these books as well in the car or on the go.

You may be wondering to your self, “Where do I start?” as it is a growing list. The answer is you start with one book. Pick one book off the list to read. Get it from Amazon, from a used book store, or at your local library. It doesn’t matter to me. Just start somewhere and begin a journey of change to improve yourself.

Personal Freedom / Liberty / History

Drawing on his twenty five years of groundbreaking research on moral psychology, Haidt shows how moral judgments arise not from reason but from gut feelings. He shows why liberals, conservatives, and libertarians have such different intuitions about right and wrong, and he shows why each side is actually right about many of its central concerns. In this subtle yet accessible book, Haidt gives you the key to understanding the miracle of human cooperation, as well as the curse of our eternal divisions and conflicts. If you’re ready to trade in anger for understanding, read The Righteous Mind.
